TEmotion NG: Revolutionary façade with water-filled glass
With TEmotion NG, WICONA and Water-Filled Glass Ltd. have developed an innovative façade solution as a project study. The centrepiece is an insulating glazing unit with a circulating water layer. ‘TEmotion NG not only insulates, but also absorbs the radiant heat, which accounts for two thirds of the transferred energy,’ says Prof. Dr Matyas Gutai, co-founder of Water-Filled Glass Ltd. In summer, excess energy can be used in the building, while in winter the heat escaping through the glass can be absorbed and reused. This enables energy savings of up to 72 %. Further advantages: better sound insulation (+15 %) and optimised use of daylight. TEmotion NG also offers advantages for existing buildings: As a second skin, the system can be installed from the inside without affecting the existing façade – this saves up to 30 % of the replacement costs.
Renovation windows: economical renovation of existing buildings
With the WICLINE Renovation window, WICONA offers an economical and sustainable solution for selective façade renovation in existing buildings. The intelligent concept allows the window sashes to be replaced while retaining the existing frame construction and thus the building structure. Dietmar Brüderl, Head of WICONA Project Service, explains: ‘This means that ongoing operations can continue undisturbed, reducing construction time and costs.’ The renovation window is also impressive in terms of sustainability. It is made from up to 100% end-of-life aluminium and can be recycled at the end of its useful life – for a sustainable reduction in CO2 and a genuine circular economy.
