Project information
Shroomshield is a design for a noise barrier along highways that utilises mycelium as insulation material. Mycelium is a viable alternative to other less-sustainable materials since it is biodegradable, absorbs sound, and collects fine dust particles. Ideal to be implemented along roads in a sound barrier. The scale model is a detail of the base of the column. The lowest panel is not perforated in our design. This detail highlights all the elements of the design and showcases the opening at the base of the sliding system.
