Project information
Water-filled Glass (WFG) is a new approach to energy efficiency. The WFG IGU utilizes a thin water layer that absorbs and moves energy instead of insulating the envelope. Water is a very efficient absorber in the invisible spectrum of radiation. WFG uses this to absorb incoming heat in the summer and capture heat loss passing through the window in winter. The solution is ideal for retrofitting where it can be installed as a secod skin from the inside, making outside access (e.g. scaffolding) or tenant relocation unnecessary, saving construction time, waste and cost. When the water is circulated, the technology is highly efficient in blocking heat transfer, resulting in a low Uvalue and significant energy savings.
