Project information

This project focusses on increasing structural efficiency to save material and thereby embodied carbon emissions. Traditional methods of design & production are often governed by reducing cost instead of reducing material. By using automated calculation tools façade brackets were optimized and material use reduced by 80%. This method shows that severe material reductions can be achieved by omitting structurally useless material. This will call for other production techiques such as 3D printing, casting, etc.
