Project information
HyWin – the clima tech facade – is a compact double skin glass facade, with integrated sunshade, cooling and heating functions. It is about a new disruptive facade system, which allows for sustainable, resilient and smart room conditioning for highly comfortable and flexible room use. The cavity between the glass panes contains a heat exchanger as well as a tangiential fan. This space between exterior triple glass unit and interior single glass unit is separated by another thin glass pane. The two cavities are connected by the heat exchanger on the bottom and the tangiential fan on top of the façade unit. The tangiential fan creates an airflow, between the two cavities. Warm water (around 30°C – 35°C) runs through the heat exchanger when heating and cool water (around 12°C – 14°C) when cooling. This allows to heat and cool by the interior glass pane as panel heating device. As a result, conventional heating technology, such as heating and cooling ceilings, can be dispensed with. This unitized and completely prefabricated system helps to reduce installation periods on site and also increases quality level of the curtain wall and heating system through prefabrication in the controlled environment of the workshop. Altogether, this can also reduce the overall construction costs.
